Inaugural Jammin' at the Jetty Sixties Contest rolls in SoCa

Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 28 August, 2016 - In perfect two to three foot conditions at the Bolsa Chica Inlet, at the Huntington State Beach, Shane Jones styled his way to win the inaugural Jammin’ at the Jetty Sixties surfing contest.
In a unique non-elimination format, particpants were required to bring their own original Sixties longboard and surf in two rounds with their best one wave from each round tabulated to determine the winner.
Jammin’ at the Jetty is the second stop of the Triple Crown of Retro, the first was the Surfside Seventies held in July with the final stop to be the Bud Llamas HB Eighties contest to be held in October.
The current Triple Crown of Retro ratings leader is Justin Hugron who won the Surfside Seventies event and finished third in the Jammin’ at the Jetty. The Jammin’ at the Jetty was held in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the opening of the Bolsa Chica Inlet to the Bolsa Chica wetlands with proceeds to benefit the Bolsa Chica Conservancy.
